Today is Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday takes place on the Tuesday directly after American Thanksgiving, which in turn takes place on the 4th Thursday of November. Giving Tuesday was created to help the “giving season” get started, reminding people that there is more to holidays than consumerism and commercialization.
On this day we are reminded of those who need our help, in a way we may have in the past or may come to need in the future. Consider making a commitment to a CFC Charity or a local organization.
For those who would like to help our local community, there is an active fund raiser for Casa Ruby, a new LGBT Youth House in DC. Read more about their project, which is 2 months away from the deadline. http://www.razoo.com/story/Casa-Ruby
